A direct descendant of Chief Pontiac, George Dewitte was born in Chatham, Ontario in 1972 and is currently based in Toronto. His art seeks to reconcile theoretical physics and universal spirituality through explorations of organic geometry, radial symmetry, chaos, and balance fueled by the artist’s delvings into transcendental mathematics, particle physics, molecular biology, kundalini yoga, and medicine wheels. Medicine wheels represent the idea of creation in all its cycles: day and night, the seasons, life and death and the orbitings of celestial bodies.
