Rafael Sottolichio was born in Chile in 1972. He completed his university studies in both Santiago and Montreal. Since 1976, he has been living in Montreal and exhibiting in various galleries across Canada. Influenced by existential philosophy, his work centers on the portrait genre and explores the relationship between the individual and reality. His work has been exhibited across Canada and is part of several private and corporate collections.
