Born in Montreal in 1958, Frances Foster studied art at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver where she received honours in drawing and painting and won the Inverest scholarship for drawing in 1988. Upon returning east, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at Montreal’s Concordia University in 1990. A passionate and accomplished artist, her works evoke surreal and mythical landscapes that address the unconscious. She has been involved in non-profit arts organizations and has participated in numerous group and solo shows. Her work can be found in public and private collections across Canada and the United States
