Joice M. Hall was born in Edmonton in 1943 and studied at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary. In her own words: “The Lake’s surface is the stage floor, the clouds the curtains, and the sunlight creates the drama. Rays tease us with warm light and a suggestion of the shapes of the South Slopes behind veils of cloud. On rare occasions we are presented with a dramatic, colorful and uplifting sunset that rejuvenates our very being and rewards us for enduring the heavy skies that occurred during the day.”
